Medical employees' salaries to be doubled in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The salaries of the medical employees will be increased in several stages. They will grow by 30 per cent as of 1 September 2020 and then starting from 1 January 2021, the salaries of the medical staff will be increased by another 30 per cent. Another increase – 40 per cent – will come in the middle of the next year. The cabinet today took responsibility for this draft.

Additionally, the medical employees will benefit from specific increase of 30 per cent of the annual sum of the basic salaries. About 4,500 medical staff units from the medical institutions of the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry, National Administration of Penitentiaries, Intelligence and Security Service, social assistance institutions (centres, asylums, social services) financed from the state budget, National Public Health Agency, Transplant Agency, Forensic Medicine Centre, National Blood Transfusion Centre, Medicines and Medical Devices Agency will enjoy this right.

The draft implies financial costs amounting to 40 million lei.
