Moldovan MP gives up mandate

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - MP Stefan Gatcan today informed that he gave up the lawmaker mandate, in order to dedicate himself to medicine. The head of the parliamentary faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Corneliu Furculita, made statements to this effect. He said that the application on giving up the MP mandate had been already registered at the parliament’s secretariat.
According to the quoted source, lawmaker Stefan Gatcan today participated in a meeting of the PSRM faction, where he announced his decision.
Furculita said MP Gatcan had specified that he remained member of the Socialists’ team and would actively get involved in the work of the formation’s social group.
“The PSRM faction took note of this decision and encouraged Stefan Gatcan to more actively participate in the life of the Party of Socialists,’’ Furculita said in a posting on his official page.
On 30 June, PSRM lawmaker Stefan Gatcan informed that he was leaving the Socialists’ formation and was joining the Pro Moldova party.
