Moldovan PM chairs meeting of governmental commission for European integration

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration. The commission considered the evolution of the process of implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and set priorities for the next period.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea unveiled information on the progress made in the carrying out of the actions provided for in the National Action Plan for the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement on the period 2017-2019 and the ones from the government’s action plan for 2020-2023. The participants in the meeting highlighted the efforts to recover the sectoral debts.
Ion Chicu asked the minister to maintain the dialogue with the European partners and ensure informing about the actions undertaken by Moldova’s authorities in the process of implementation of the Association Agreement with EU and promotion of the agenda of reforms. The PM demanded focusing attention and mobilizing the resources of the competent authorities, especially on the dimension of responsibility of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, in order to eliminate the debts from the action plan on the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement for 2017-2019.
The commission approved a working calendar of recovering the sectoral debts, worked out and finished following a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration from 5 February 2020.
