Moldovan diplomacy head participates in videoconference of foreign affairs ministers of Eastern Partnership countries

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - The goals of post-2020 cooperation were discussed at a virtual meeting of the Eastern Partnership countries’ foreign affairs ministers, held at an initiative by European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
Minister Oleg Tulea stressed the importance of deepening the political dialogue and agreeing on concrete sectoral long-term objectives, which will contribute not only to the consolidation of the resilience of the Partnership’s countries, as well as to the deepening of the processes of integration into EU. In this respect, the minister highlighted the importance of continuing the dialogue of the partners associated with the European Commission concerning the reforms’ implementation.
The foreign affairs minister of Moldova pointed out, among the priority interest goals: connection to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), cutting the roaming tariffs between the EU countries and member states of the Eastern Partnership, as well as the opening of the access of the EaP countries to the European market of road transport. Also, the minister expressed interest in strengthening the cooperation in the security sector, including the cyber one.
The Moldovan diplomacy head welcomed the EU’s willingness to deepen the cooperation in the health sector and emphasized the importance of improving the interaction in the management of the humanitarian crisis situations.
The ideas communicated at the high-level meetings from last June, as well as the ones expressed at the 30 June will serve as basis for the European Commission in preparing the consolidated version of the post-2020 goals. Subsequently, they will be discussed with the partner countries and approved at the EaP Summit, due in March 2021.
