Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), at a today’s news briefing, informed that they would propose in parliament an amendment of the Constitution for banning the political party switching and cutting the number of lawmakers from 101 to 61.
MP Vlad Batrincea noted that, on the days to come, they would submit the initiative on the amendment of the Constitution for the prohibition of the political party switching. He also said that, on the last period, ‘’some lawmakers believe that they can put to sale the mandate given the citizens.’’
Batrincea urged the parliamentary opposition to back this initiative. At the same time, he specified that an initiative on reducing the number of MPs to 61 persons would be soon registered.
The PSRM initiatives come after, earlier this week, a fresh Socialist lawmaker, Stefan Gatcan, informed that he was leaving the formation and was switching to the Pro Moldova group and on the next day Gatcan said that he was giving up the MP mandate.
