Moldovan top leadership lays flowers at monuyment to Ruler Stephen the Great

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, along with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu, today laid flowers at the monument to Stefan the Great and Holy, on the occasion of the 516 years since the passing away of the great Ruler, the presidential press service has reported.
Stefan the Great and Holy was the Ruler of Moldavia during 1457-1504, for 47 years. He was a hot defender of the state’s territorial integrity, a fearless army leader, great patriot and persevering edifier of country, founder of a glorious age from Moldova’s history.
The Moldovan president highlighted that Stephen the Great had gained, with good reason, the historical fame and we are proud that we have him among our ancestors.
We remind that, under presidential decree, the 2018 year was declared year of Stephen the Great and Holy and given this, more patriotic activities organized under the patronage of Moldova’s president were carried out.
The head of state said that we must honour the memory of Stephen the Great, be proud of our history and of the fact that we are the descendants of the great Ruler.
