Incidence rate of COVID-19 higher in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - The head of the Chisinau city hall’s social assistance and health general department, Boris Galca, has said that a progressive increase in the incidence of COVID-19 was recorded in the Moldovan capital.
At a today’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Galca unveiled a report on the epidemiological situation in Chisinau. He said that the incidence rate of the disease in the municipality, of 582/100,000 residents, was higher than the one recorded in the country – 466/100,000 residents. ‘’Data shows a progressive increase in the number of COVID-19 disease cases in Chisinau.’’
According to the official, the overall number of the infections with coronavirus will exceed 17,000 in Moldova soon. He also said that 577 sick people were put in the hospitals subordinated to the city hall, of whom 94 are in a quite serious condition.
Boris Galca stressed that the health institutions from Chisinau had enough money to cope with the coronavirus pandemic and that ‘’30 million lei is secured to cope with the situation in the near future.’’
