Moldovan PM meets authorities of central district

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met authorities of the central Telenesti district. The sides discussed problems faced by the local authorities, such as connection to gas supply, street illumination, roads’ repair and recovery of the damages inflicted by the natural calamities. Only 21 out of 54 settlements of the Telenesti district are connected to gas supply, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

Ion Chicu referred to the priority of investments in infrastructure and other actions meant to improve people’s living standards. ‘’I came to discuss the problems you are facing and to find solutions together. Priority represents the sectors of health, education, infrastructure and zero politics. We trust the people’s wisdom and we rely on authorities’ contribution to solving the problems of the Telenesti district.’’     

The sides tackled the subject on roads’ construction within the Good Roads 2020 project. As much as 33.664 million lei will be invested in the Telenesti district for the repair of about 30 km of road in 31 settlements. The works are scheduled to be completed in next November.  

A 22-km-long road, Clisova - Suhuluceni - Leuseni – Verejeni, is under repair. As much as 21.6 million lei out of the overall cost of the project of 89 million lei has been turned to account so far. The carrying out of the project on road’s repair was launched from sources of the National Regional Development Fund, through the Centru Development Agency, with co-financing from the Road Fund of up to 30 per cent from the sources annually earmarked for the project.
