Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - The participants in a today’s meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) signaled a serious infringement of the right to free movement, registered today, concomitantly at all illegal ‘’border guards’’ posts set by Tiraspol in the Security Zone. The Transnistrian structures’ abusive actions are described as defiance of the basic acts of the peacekeeping actions and a full contempt for the decisions approved by the Commission, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Such situation took place in the context when, in the last period, Tiraspol has triggered the weakening of the leverages of control over the Security Zone, held by JCC and incapacity of the peacekeeping mechanisms to contribute to the removing of the illegal posts.
Trenchantly asked about the reason for the restricting of the access of hundreds of citizens, who were going either to work, or to health centres, or to public institutions, in order to benefit from services or were going to relatives on visit, the Transnistrian representatives in the Commission gave no answer, noting that they needed time to collect facts. Nevertheless, they thwarted, this time again, the inclusion on the agenda of the issue of illegal posts. The Transnistrian side also procrastinated a request to send military observers on the spot, who are to fix the infringement according to regulation.
The Transnistrian side’s way of distorting the truth, misinforming Chisinau and trying to manipulate the public opinion was condemned in a declaration by Moldova’s Delegation, which stresses that the diminution of the Commission’s authority is a consequence of these actions of Tiraspol.
At a request by the Criuleni Post Centre, residents of Cocieri and Molovata Noua, Moldova’s Delegation called on the other participants in the Commission to ensure the free movement for the post employees who are to deliver the pensions to the citizens who reside in these settlements from the Security Zone.
No decision was taken on the subject concerning the work of the Joint Military Command on the period of the anti-epidemic measures and de-blocking of the military observers’ activity.
