Moldovan PM inspects march of roads construction works

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today verified the march of the works for restoration of the R6 road Chisinau – Orhei – Balti. The contract for the carrying out of the rehabilitation works was signed on n10 July 2019 and regards a road segment with a length of 32 km, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The works are to be finished on 12 March 2022, with 15 per cent of the contracted time consumed. The value of the contract, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), is of about 36 million euros; about 7.2 million euros have been paid.    

The bypass road of the Sangerei, the road segment up to the Copaceni village and a road segment nearby the Prepelita village up to Ratus, Telenesti district, will be rehabilitated within the project. Ten bridges will be restored and works of stabilizing the embankment of landslides will be carried out.   

Decision-makers of the constructing company informed the PM about the carrying out of the works of excavation of the present asphalt layer and removing the fertile layer.  

Ion Chicu urged constructors to focus on the quality of the works and the terms of carrying out: ‘’We massively invest in the road infrastructure, as it is an important stage in the country’s modernization and industrialization. This year, we rely much on the fact that the public investments will create jobs, so that we mitigate the effects of the economic crisis. We will be attentive, to equal extent, to the quality of the works and the terms of carrying out – we should hurry up turning Moldova attractive as place for living and investment zone.’’
