Moldova starts discussions with IMF for new three-year programme

Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - The team of experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on 7-22 July 2020, will hold discussions with Moldova’s authorities online, from the IMF’s headquarters in Washington, on a new three-year programme.
According to IMF’s Resident Representative in Moldova Volodymyr Tulin, as a result of the Moldovan authorities’ request, the experts’ team will hold discussions on a new three-year programme. The programme will be focused on a string of policies due to contribute to maintaining the macroeconomic stability, supporting the process of reestablishment following the COVID-19, promoting good governance and institutional reforms, as well as to mobilizing the foreign financing.
The discussions will focus on protecting the independence of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), improving the budgetary and fiscal governance and governance in the financial sector, strengthening the framework of combating corruption and promoting the rule of law state.
