Chisinau, 4 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has congratulated the American nation on the occasion of the Independence Day of the United States of America.

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the United States, President Igor Dodon today congratulated the American nation and highlighted the friendship and cooperation relations between Moldova and the United States and the substantial technical and financial assistance provided by the United States to Moldova in the last decades.

„I convey the sincerest congratulations to President of the United States Donald Trump, as well as to all American citizens on the Independence Day of the United States. I am happy with the fact that special friendship and cooperation relations, based on common ideals and mutual trust, have been established between Moldova and the United States.

Availing myself of the special occasion, I would like to reiterate the gratitude for the substantial technical and financial assistance provided by the United States of America to Moldova in the last decades. At the same time, the multi-dimensional character of the bilateral cooperation inspires me confidence that, in the next years, we will manage to increase the economic exchanges and investments, strengthen the privileged partnership and fructify this nice friendship,’’ President Dodon wrote on social networks.

The National Day of the United States, the Fourth of July, is the date when those 13 colonies were declaring their independence from the British Empire on 4 July 1776 – an event which led to the foundation of the United States of America as a sovereign entity.
