Moldovan premier participates in joint meeting with head of state, parliament speaker

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today participated in a joint meeting with President Igor Dodon and Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In his press statements, the PM reminded about the tragedy which happened 71 years ago on 6 July, when tens of thousands of people were taken out of their homes and deported to concentration camps: ‘’This was a dark day. We must never forget these tragedies of our nation and do our utmost, in order not to allow the history to repeat.’’
Ion Chicu noted that the participants in the meeting tackled the most important subjects of the moment: the blockage of the government’s work by some MPs and the epidemiological situation in Moldova.
The prime minister said that today he would go in front of the lawmakers to unveil the draft law for which the cabinet takes responsibility. ‘’We rely on the responsibility of the MPs. I hope that today at 14:00, the political crisis will be overcome and the citizens will benefit from the increases and allowances stipulated in the draft on the budget’s amendment for 2020.’’
As for the epidemiological situation in the country, the PM said that a decrease in the number of cases was recorded; yet, the virus continues to mark the life in all sectors. A meeting of the National Public Health Commission will be held this week, which will decide the steps and actions due to be undertaken after 15 July.
