Turnover of Moldova's IT Park reaches 3.65 billion lei in 2019

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - The turnover got by the residents of the IT Park for 2029 is of 3.65 billion lei and exceeds the expectations.

The state secretary of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), Vitalie Tarlev, today unveiled the results achieved by IT Park in 2019, noting that these results were exceeding the expectations. ‘’An increase in the number of residents from 338 to 578 small- and medium sized enterprises is recorded at the IT Park, which have 9,700 employees in all. The turnover made in 2019 is of 3.65 billion lei and exceeds the expectations,’’ Tarlev said.    

At the same time, the official stressed that an increase in the number of enterprises with foreign capital, registered in IT parks – 133, was recorded, as well as in the number of newly set up enterprises – 223. ‘’Forty four of these new enterprises are startups,’’ Tarlev noted.    

According to the information presented, more than a half of the resident enterprises in IT Park write softs to order: a quarter of them provide consultancy in the IT sector, ten per cent process data and the rest operate in the field of computer games and software analysis.  

The goal of the IT parks is to make products with high value added. Their residents pay only a single seven-per cent tax of the sales.   

The first IT park of Moldova started working on 1 January 2018, as a platform created by the government to stimulate investments and develop the IT business, for digital research, development and innovation.
