Moldovan foreign affairs minister, ambassador of Sweden discuss up-to-date issues of bilateral relatrions

Chisinau, 9 July /MOLDPRES/ - The bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Moldova and Sweden were tackled at a today’s meeting of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea and Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova Anna Lyberg, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The officials discussed actions meant to contribute to the implementation of joint projects, diversification of cooperation sectors and development of commercial and economic relations in the new context, created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Oleg Tulea referred to the latest developments in the process of Moldova’s European integration and reforms’ implementation, in line with the Association Agreement. At the same time, he expressed appreciation to Sweden for backing Moldova in strengthening the democracy, economic development and environmental protection.
Ambassador Anna Lyberg informed about the projects financed by the Swedish authorities, meant to combat the bad effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Moldova – distribution of protection equipment to regional medical institutions and social assistants, backing the native companies which manufacture such equipment, supporting mass media institutions and information campaigns on the Covid-19 pandemic.
The taking over of OSCE’s chairmanship by Sweden in 2021 was another important subject of the meeting. The sides touched upon goals and priorities of Sweden in this capacity, as well as the organization of a visit to Chisinau by the Swedish foreign affairs minister on the period of holding the chairmanship.
