Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of Romania in Moldova today informed that the measure of ban on entering Romania for foreign citizens and stateless people was maintained, with certain exceptions.
Following requests by media institutions and questions put by Moldova’s citizens on the conditions of entering Romania, the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau informs:
„The measure of prohibiting the entering of Romania for the foreign citizens and stateless people is maintained, with the following exceptions: the family members of the Romanian citizens; the family members of the citizens of other member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area or of the Swiss Confederation, with residence in Romania; people with a long-term stay visa, a stay permit or a document equivalent to them, issued by the authorities of other states, under the European Union’s legislation; people moving on professional purpose, proved by visa, stay permit or other equivalent document and namely medical employees, researchers in the medical sector, medical staff for geriatric care, as well as the carriers and other categories of staff involved in the transport of goods, which ensure such necessary transports,’’ the Romanian Embassy in Moldova says.
Also, the measure allows the entrance of diplomatic or consular personnel, staff of international organizations, military personnel and the one which can provide humanitarian assistance; people in transit, including those repatriated as a result of providing consular protection; the passengers travelling on operative grounds; people needing international protection or for other humanitarian reasons.
The citizens of Moldova, as well as from other states, who do not fit the categories of the aforementioned exceptions, have no right to enter Romania.
According to the diplomatic mission, starting from 2 July 2020, the measure of isolation/quarantine is not imposed for the people meeting the aforementioned exceptions and who enter Romania (the suspension of this measure is temporary and there is possibility of its reintroducing, depending on the epidemiological developments in Romania).
„All people who transit Romania and have no symptoms specific for the infection with the new-type coronavirus, no matter the origin or destination country, are excepted from the isolation measure. It is recommended that the transit be made uninterruptedly, by the use of humanitarian corridors specially created on this purpose,’’ the quoted communiqué reads.
The embassy recommends that all people be permanently informed only from official sources about the entrance in Romania, before starting the travel, just in order to avoid the movement to the border crossing point and non-permission of entrance.
