Chisinau-Tiraspol working group for motor transport, roads' infrastructure holds meeting

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - A string of provisions dealing with the registration of touring cars with neutral plates from the Transnistrian region today were considered at a meeting of the working group for the development of the motor transport and roads’ infrastructure, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Among them, there is the dynamic of keeping record of the vehicles with plates and registration certificates of neutral model at the points of registration of transports means (PIMT) from the Rabnita and Tiraspol cities, as well as the opportunity to extend the action of the law on the registration of touring cars with neutral plates from the Transnistrian region.
Chisinau proposed the introduction of several new forms of programming at the registration centres, which see terms of seven days, three months, preliminary registration and based on the ‘’physical queue’’.
At the same time, Chisinau tackled the issue of ensuring the free movement of residents and transport means and excluding the cases of collecting financial means in form of road tax for the touring cars registered in Moldova. The Moldovan side also proposed to adapt the customs duties and taxes to the level of payments adopted through the national legislation.
We remind that, starting from 2018, two points of registration of touring cars from the Transnistrian region, with the issuance of plates and certificates with neutral format, were opened in Rabnita and Tiraspol. More than 3,600 neutral plates and certificates of touring cars’ registration, which allow the access of touring cars from the Transnistrian region to the international traffic, have been issued.
Chisinau demanded the organization of an inspection visit to the two points of registration of touring cars from the Transnistrian region.
The sides also discussed the prohibited transport means and harmonization of some customs duties.
