Moldovan cabinet to back settlements hit by natural calamities

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Commission for Emergency Situations (CNSE), at a today’s meeting, ruled to provide assistance to the settlements hit by the latest natural calamities.
„As a result of appeals by local commissions for emergency situations, we ruled to provide support both to local public authorities and citizens directly hit by the bad weather,’’ Prime Minister, CNSE head Ion Chicu said today.
According to the PM, it is about the allocation of assistance from the government’s intervention fund for the settlements Basarabeasca, Lipcani, Pojareni, Costesti, Tapala, Horesti (Ialoveni district); Cetireni (Ungheni district); Chistelnita, Saratenii Vechi and Leuseni (Telenesti district).
”Meanwhile, the reception of requests for assistance continues, as more settlements were hit. Or, as soon as these applications are processed, with the financial part evaluated, the concerned decisions are taken,’’ Chicu noted.
Heavy rains, accompanied by strong wind and hail, took place in Moldova in the last weeks. They caused damages to dwellings and farmlands from more villages and towns from the country.
