Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The wineries of Moldova have started reopening their doors and receiving visitors. The resumption of the activity is made with the observance of all safety measures. Some wineries adapted their menu, while the others limited the number of people who can concomitantly be in the same place, preparing to provide original gastronomic experiences, guided tours, excursions in small groups and tastings of select wines.
To visit the oeno-touristic destinations from Moldova, within the ReVin cu Drag campaign, the National Office of Wine and Vine (ONVV) completed and updated the Oeno-Touristic Guide of Moldova with new destinations which expect to provide a unique experience. To plan excursions, the guide contains contact data of wineries and for a sage stay, visitors are recommended to make a preliminary booking and learn all details and conditions in which wine cellars work.
At the same time, ONVV launched a challenge on social networks, in which anybody can take part. For this, the participant will post a photo, alone or accompanied by relatives, from one of the Moldovan wineries visited. The photos will be distributed on the personal Facebook or Instagram page; the participant will write a short text on how he/she felt there and what memories they have from that winery. The text must be accompanied by the hashtag #revincudrag, will add a link from the posting in commentaries from the Facebook page Wine of Moldova and can win a string of three wines produced by Moldovan winemakers.
The challenge is part of the ReVin cu drag campaign, aimed at making known the wineries from all over Moldova, their touristic supplies, as well as the wines they produce.
„It is known the fact that Moldova provides not only quality wines, but also authentic experiences, which should be promoted. In this context, ONVV will continue supporting the wineries from the country and promoting the hospitability of the Moldovan people locally. Moldova is proud of the biggest density of vineyards in the world per capita and can supply a large variety of wines able to satisfy any taste and in combination with the national gastronomy, we can provide unforgettable experiences. Local producers expect us visiting their wineries and thus back them on this post-pandemic period and we will continue joining our efforts and promoting the product of our national pride, as well as the local oeno-tourism,’’ ONVV director Gheorghe Arpentin said.
The ReVin cu drag, campaign, initiated by ONVV, is set to popularize the wine and vine tourism nationally, in order to attract as many tourists as possible to the wineries and wine cellars which provide tourist services.
The initiative takes place in the context when, due to the continuous improvement of the Wine of Moldova, the events dedicated and century-old traditions in wine-making, the wine-making and vine-growing sectors managed to place Moldova on the world tourism map. At the same time, being the biggest generator of jobs in the rural areas, the industry was badly hit by the COVID-19 world pandemic.
