Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has extended till 1 August the term through which the organizations of the Moldovan citizens from the Diaspora can submit proposals for the setting up of polling stations in their residence country for the presidential elections due on 1 November 2020.
According to a CEC press release, ‘’more approaches were received in this respect, which will be considered when the Commission will take the decision on establishing the number of locations of the polling stations.’’
The press release reads that the electoral authority ‘’appreciates the openness and the increased interest of citizens, who answered the CEC’s call.’’
The increased interests by Moldovan citizens who live abroad and the requests received contributed to the decision ‘’of extending, till 1 August 2020, of the term of submitting proposals on behalf of the Moldovan Diaspora associations, as well as on behalf of the groups of Moldovan citizens who will be abroad on the day of the presidential polls,’’ reads the CEC’s communiqué.
