Moldovan foreign affairs ministry makes statement on recent events at Azeri-Armenian border

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) follows with concern the events at the Azeri-Armenian border, where armed clashes have taken place on the last days, which resulted inclusively in dead people, the MAEIE press service has reported.

MAEIE expresses condolences to the families of the killed people and calls on the sides to abstain from making use of force, to further make enhanced efforts, in order to avoid the escalation of the situation and return to the format of talks within the Minsk Group under the OSCE’s aegis.

Moldova speaks out for the peaceful settlement of the conflict-stricken situation, based on the observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, within its internationally recognized borders.
