Moldovan PM summons meeting on setting up of multifunctional industrial platforms

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu has summoned a meeting with government decision-makers on the setting up of 16 multifunctional industrial platforms (MIP) in Moldova’s districts. Attending the discussions were the economics and infrastructure minister, the leadership of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Public Property Agency (APP), the manager of the Balti-based Free Economic Zones (FEZ), as well as the representative of the Investments Agency, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The PM asked to speed up the activities dealing with the connection of industrial zones to the infrastructure networks and measures of attracting investors to these regions.

„The government allocated 50 million lei for the creation of industrial platforms. At present, we have the identified the grounds. Establish the action plans for the technical preparation of each industrial platform, so that we advance in the launch of these zones,’’ Ion Chicu said.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of the active involvement of the Investments Agency, commercial bureaus, Moldova’s ambassadors from abroad, as well as of diplomats accredited in Moldova, in order to promote the opportunities of the industrial platforms.

The participants in the meeting ruled to set up a joint working group, made up of the specialists of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Investments Agency, MAEIE, APP and others, who will jointly set the plan of actions and will monitor their implementation.
