U.S. Ambassador to Moldova interested in amendment of Electoral Code

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan has showed interest in the amendment of the Electoral Code.

At an online meeting, the president, deputy president and secretary of the electoral authority and the American ambassador tackled subjects contained on the agenda of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), dealing with the preparations for the elections for the office of Moldovan president, scheduled for 1 November 2020.

The U.S. ambassador displayed special interest in the amendment of the Electoral Code. In the context, the sides exchanged opinions on the proposals to shorten the time for voting, organization of polling stations outside Moldova, work of the institution of observer in the process of registration of candidates for the office of president.
