Moldovan cabinet approves allocation of one-off support worth 700 lei for about 660,000 beneficiaries

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a cabinet meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the meeting, the cabinet approved the allocation of a one-off support worth 700 lei to the beneficiaries of pensions and state social allocations, the quantum of which does not exceed 3,000 lei. The draft’s goal is to enhance the social protection. The one-off assistance will be provided to about 660,000 people. As much as 466.4 million lei was provided for this, as a result of a recent rectification of the state social insurances budget.
The people who worked after retirement will have possibility to submit online the application on the re-examination of the age limit pension. This additional option was approved by the cabinet, in order to enhance the process of reception/administration of applications and reduce the flow of beneficiaries at the institution’s pay desks. The online applications could be submitted through the single governmental portal of the public services or the webpage of the National Social Insurances House (CNAS).
The government approved the amendment of the regulation on the application to the First Home programme. Under the decision, the participation share was diminished from 10 to 5 per cent of the dwelling’s purchasing price. At the same time, the draft sees increase in the age of applicants who can access the programme from 45 to 50 years. Additionally, the cabinet will be able to provide compensations in quantum of 50 per cent of the balance of the left loan of people who accessed mortgage loan till the launch of the First Home programme. Another important provision gives right to people who own a dwelling to be eligible within the programme.
The government approved the state order on training specialty staff, with financing from the state budget, in the higher education institutions for the 2020-2021 academic year. As many as 8,645 budgetary places were provided for in all, by 200,000 more against the year before. Five thousand students will be able to be admitted to degree higher education and integrated higher education without education fee, at 26 specialties. A number of 3,096 budgetary financing places will be available at the master education and 443 places – at the residency education.
The cabinet approved the starting of negotiations on a draft grant agreement between the governments of Moldova and Japan on the supply of medical equipment within the economic and social development programme. Under the agreement, the government of Japan will provide Moldova with a grant worth about 100 million Japanese yen. The money will be used for implementing the economic and social development programme, including for purchasing medical equipment and medical products or services in Moldova.
The Moldovan government ruled to initiate talks with the cabinet of Italy on a draft amendment of the inter-governmental agreement on the conversion of driver’s licences, signed on 27 November 2003. The need of amendments to the agreement came as a result of the enforcement, as of 1 January 2020, of the new-type driver’s licences in Moldova. Respectively, the concerned draft will regulate the adjusting of equalizing technical indexes and the list of driver’s licences provided for in the agreement.
