Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today participated in an event on the launch of the e-Transport authorization information system, developed with the support of the Structural Reforms in Moldova Programme of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Attending the event were also the economics and infrastructure minister, Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan, as well as Director of USAID Programme Douglas Muir, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The system’s implementation will allow providing public services in online regime and will optimize the process of issuance of permissive acts by the National Agency of Road Transport (ANTA).
The prime minister said that the system’s launch would solve more problems faced by carriers in the process of getting transport authorizations. Negative precedents have been earlier recorded, when the export of goods was blocked, because of problems in terms of authorizations’ issuance. The new system will allow operators asking for transport authorizations online, following, at any time, the stage of the application’s processing, as well as will diminish the corruption in the sector.
”The e-transport authorization system represents a solution of the category Government to Citizen and Government to Business, the goal of which is transition from the manual to digital processes and to diminish intermediaries in the process of interaction of road transport operators with ANTA,’’ the PM said. He thanked the U.S. Government for the support provided in this process. Also, Chicu appreciated the involvement of all participants in the working out of the digital platform.
The system’s launch will save time, as well as money of road operators. According to estimations, the expenses will decrease to about 200,000 dollars annually. This is a considerable support for the economic agents and will facilitate the goods export.
The prime minister highlighted the Moldovan government’s openness for the further cooperation with the development partners from the USA for the digitization of other important services for the citizens’ benefit.
