More than 1,000 minors infected with COVID-19 in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,080 children and 177 pregnant women were infected with COVID-19. Most of them have been already healed. The director of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), Nicolae Furtuna, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.

The ANSP head said that 20,264 cases of infection with COVID-19 had been recorded so far.

Furtuna noted that one third of the overall number of minors infected was aged between 1 and 5 years, i.e. those who should attend kindergartens. Nicolae Furtuna reiterated the urge to the parents to be cautious and avoid agglomerated places and playgrounds. Furtuna asked citizens, especially residents of cities and towns, to avoid agglomerated places, keep the distance and not travel by public transport, if there is no urgent need.
