Moldova receives 20 million euros of second installment of financing on behalf of EU

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has received 20 million euros of the second installment of macro-financial assistance on behalf of the European Union.
„The loan worth 20 million euros of the second installment of the EU’s macro-financial assistance programme for Moldova reached the account of the Finance Ministry on 16 July 2020. The grant worth 10 million euros is to be disbursed next week,’’ the competent ministry says.
According to Deputy prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta, the disbursement of the concerned financial means is due to the fact that Moldova has fully carried out the actions provided for in the memorandum of understanding on macro-financial assistance, which included important measures in the field of governance of the banking sector, public sector, fighting corruption and money laundering, energy and business climate field, as well as the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).
The second macro-financial assistance installment is made up of 10 million euros in grant and 20 million euros as long-term loan, with low interest.
