Moldovan premier visits Moldova's Embassy in Belarus

Chisinau, 17 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today visited the Embassy of Moldova in Minsk. The PM was familiarized about the work of the Moldovan diplomatic mission in Belarus, especially the measures undertaken for turning to good account the Moldovan-Belarusian commercial, economic and investment relations.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the PM referred to the initiative to industrialize Moldova, creation of industrial platforms in Moldova’s districts and the importance to attract investors to this end. Ion Chicu emphasized the need to boost efforts for attracting foreign producers and entrepreneurs in Moldova.
The prime minister asked employees of Moldova’s Embassy in Minsk and the commercial and economic office to actively promote the investment opportunities provided by Moldova.
„The crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic and the social and economic effects additionally prove the importance of the economy’s sustainable development. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously focus efforts on the promotion of Moldovan products on the Belarusian market, in order to boost the trade exchanges,’’ Ion Chicu said.
At the same time, the Moldovan PM visited the location meant for the construction of the new building of Moldova’s diplomatic mission in Minsk.
There are 84 enterprises with Belarusian capital in Moldova. For 2019, the turnover as to the mutual commercial exchanges stood at 211.5 million dollars, of which 80.5 million dollars represents the volume of goods exported.
