Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ -The parliament today might hold a meeting, in order to consider the motion of censure against the cabinet of ministers led by Ion Chicu. The decision on holding the meeting will be taken at a meeting of the Standing Bureau today morning. The PM made statements to this effect after a weekly meeting with the head of state and parliament speaker.
According to Chicu, if the Bureau rules to convene the meeting, then the government will change the agenda established for today.
„The parliament’s standing bureau holds a meeting at 10:00, with a proposal to discuss the motion of censure submitted last week. Depending on the results of this exercise, we will take the subsequent decisions during this week and further, in general. Given that, if the government falls, we will become acting cabinet, which limits our powers,’’ Chicu said.
The prime minister noted that, if the motion is backed by most lawmakers, then the government would not be able to sign more important agreements, among which the memorandum with IMF too.
