Moldovan cabinet approves concept of system on chemical products' register

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet, at a today’s meeting, approved the technical concept of the automated information system, Register of chemical products placed on Moldova’s market.
The Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM) will ensure the implementation, work and development of the aforementioned information system, through the National Agency for Regulation of Nuclear, Radiological and Chemical Activities.
During six months, MADRM will work out the way of keeping the concerned Register and will submit it to the government for approval. Also, the ministry will ensure the creation and monitoring of the automated information system, Register of chemical products placed on Moldova’s market, from annual allocations approved in the state budget law, as well as from other sources which are not banned by the legislation.
The system will include information about the chemical products on Moldova’s market, which will stipulate the toxic features, risk for health, urgent actions in case of emergency situations, physical and chemical features, biological activity, transformation in environment, hygienic and ecological norms, including the security measures at the stage of production, import, export, carriage and use of chemical products in Moldova.
At the same time, the system will allow the automation of the work of the public authorities involved in the processes of management of chemical substances and in the implementation of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.
