Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - After five hours of hot discussions in the session hall, the motion of censure against the cabinet of ministers, led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, has been turned down. Forty six MP voted for the motion.

In his report unveiled to the lawmakers, the PM made a retrospective of the government’s work in the last months. He reviewed the cabinet’s achievements, noting that the pandemic was a true provocation not only for Moldova, but also for the entire world.

In his report, the prime minister referred to the state of things in different social and economic sectors and the efforts undertaken by the governmental team for a good management of the situation. Chicu stressed that the government was further determined to cope with the challenges and relied on the parliament’s support in this process.

”No matter your vote, as long as we are in the cabinet of ministers, we will do our utmost not to allow the worsening of the situation,’’ the PM said.

The prime minister specified that difficult decisions had been taken on this period and the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic, as well as by the unfriendly weather conditions, might worsen.

In the end of the report, the PM was applauded by the parties from the ruling coalition and booed by the opposition. After more speeches, the motion of censure was rejected.
