Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today paid an unexpected visit to the Boscana village, central Criuleni district, after he had received more signals on the quality of the Goian-Criuleni road, under repair. The state secretary of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), Anatol Usatii, the leadership of the State Administration of Roads, the head of the Criuleni district, mayors of the villages from the region, as well as MP Lilian Carp were present on the spot. The lawmaker notified the PM that more drivers had broken their wind screens because of the fresh gravel put on asphalt, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The road is under repair on a length of 33 km and crosses five settlements: Hrusova, Boscana, Cosernita, Onitcani, Slobozia-Dusca din Criuleni. Twenty two km of road have been already repaired. The value of the works is 16.5 million lei, earmarked from the Road Fund.
The prime minister was informed that temporary repair works were carried out on this segment. This will prolong the duration of road’s servicing by several years, till the capital repair, for which about 200 million lei is necessary. The provisional repair implies the stopping of holes, putting an asphalt carpet with a height of 4 cm and bituminous treatment, with a service term of up to seven years.
According to the technology, a speed limit of 30 km/hour and a distance between vehicles of at least 70 cm is needed to be observed till the strengthening of the asphalt carpet. The ignoring of these rules actually caused the drivers’ problems. In the context, the prime minister demanded the setting of more road signs which would warn drivers about risks.
Ion Chicu asked to exclude oscillations of levels and defections formed in places. The repair works are to be completed on 15 August 2020 and the entrepreneur is obliged to remove the defections recorded. The guarantee term is of one year.
„I ask the control institutions to thoroughly verify the quality of the works. The Finance Ministry will not allocate money, unless we are not sure that the works have been carried out with a high quality. It is better for us to repair less roads, but more qualitatively. I ask also the local authorities to signal any problem registered,’’ the prime minister said.
