PM inspects one of most important infrastructure objects from north Moldova

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today inspected the march of the works of construction of one of the most important road infrastructure objects from north Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The road knot at the exit from the Balti city is capitally reconstructed on a length of 3 km. The project provides for the rehabilitation of two bridges, foundation walls and the connection road between them. The functionality of the road knot will ease the transport’s movement in the Balti municipality.
Ion Chicu said that this road knot was a unique project for Moldova. ‘’It is about the construction of an important infrastructure element – the semi- belt road of the Balti city. The city has a free economic zone and other industrial objects and is overburdened with transport. This road knot will allow easing the movement and will connect the northern and central Moldova,’’ the PM noted. The project provides for the carrying out of works of drainage, arrangement of illumination, extending foundations, setting the metal parapet, road signs, etc.
The works of construction of the road knot will last till 2021. The overall value of the contract is about 110 million lei, of which 51.1 million lei was allocated in 2020. A half of the sum has been already turned to account. It is necessary to earmark another 47 million lei.
Subsequently, Prime Minister Chicu went to the Sofia village, northern Drochia district, where he inspected the reconstruction of a road segment from the settlement. ‘’It is important that you ensure the quality and maintenance of the roads repaired. I ask you to have a wise approach,’’ Ion Chicu stressed.
The asphalting works were carried out on a length of 400 metres. About 1.1 million lei was provided for on this purpose. Three road segments are under repair in this region and the works are carried out by people from the village.
