National Bank of Moldova to dedicate silver coin to physicians

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The executive committee of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has ruled to issue a commemorative coin dedicated to health sector employees, titled, My Physician – My Hero, and invites citizens to propose concepts for the working out of its design till 15 August 2020.   

„The creation of a coin-homage is meant to show the attitude of deep gratitude, respect and admiration for those who put at risk their lives in each hour and moment, in order to save other lives. Each of us can reduce the negative impact of the epidemiological situation – through observing the measures of personal protection and of those by our side. The proving of gratitude towards physicians gets sense only with such a responsible involvement,’’ BNM Governor Octavian Armasu said.  

In the context, the National Bank encourages all citizens who reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities to express their graphic vision on the future coin, in order to make a distinct coin of an aesthetic, ideational value and of spiritual sensitivity.

The basic criteria for selecting the concepts refer to originality, creativity and coherence of the elements of design, so that it is possible to carry them out on the surface of the coin. Each participant will be able to present a single concept, being obliged to observe the copyrights and the related rights.    

The design concepts will be considered by a commission set up by BNM, which reserves the right to use them at the elaboration of the final design.
