Moldovan deputy premier has working meeting with OSCE Mission Head

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic today had a working meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Claus Neukirch.  

According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, at the discussions, Cristina Lesnic stressed willingness to have a meeting at the level of the political representatives, in the 1+1 format. At the event, the sides are to discuss subjects of the Berlin plus Package, as well as other topical issues on the agenda of the Chisinau-Tiraspol process of negotiations, in particular, during the events held as a result of the management of the epidemiological situation.      

Cristina Lesnic highlighted that Chisinau had sent a letter to Tiraspol for holding the 1+1 meeting on 30 July 2020, in the format of the political representatives on the Transnistria-related issues.  

The officials discussed the topic on the results of the activity of the working group in the telecommunications sector and post services on 22 July 2020.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the subjects concerning the activities of support and promotion of measures to strengthen confidence between the residents from both banks of Dniester, the issue on free movement, preparing the education process for the Latin-script schools, admission of the graduates of schools from the left bank of Dniester to universities of Moldova.  

The deputy PM noted that Chisinau had proved constructivism and pragmatic approach as regards the fulfilling of the positive obligations towards the citizens with residence in the Transnistrian region. In this respect, Lesnic emphasized including the measures undertaken for the transfer of patients in serious condition from the left bank of Dniester to quality medical centres placed on the right bank.

At the same time, Cristina Lesnic noted the situation as to the process of documenting the residents from the Transnistrian region with confirmatory acts of birth and death, which has considerably decreased starting from last March against the similar demands from the previous years; this occurred because of the movement restrictions imposed by the Transnistrian side under the pretext of the pandemic.  

Another subject of the discussions was focused on the situation in the Security Zone, citizens’ notifications and the need of immediate settlement.
