Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, at a 24 July news conference held at the State Residence in Condrita, said that the goal of a second mandate of Moldovan president would mean for him Moldova’s reintegration and the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
"I have not yet taken the decision to run for the second mandate; yet, for me, the goal of a second mandate would be Moldova’s reintegration,’’ President Dodon said.
The head of state stressed that there were real prospects for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and that these prospects depended on the interest of the major geopolitical players to prove a success story in the region. ‘’The great geopolitical actors would like, as soon as possible, to show a success story in the region, one which would prove that they can cooperate,’’ Igor Dodon stressed.
At the same time, the Moldovan president, answering a question by a MOLDPRES reporter, said that, if participated in the elections, he would be the candidate of the people and would be backed by Moldova’s Party of Socialists.
