Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, at a 24 July news conference held at the Condrita-based state Residence, said that he would have a working meeting with the head of the Transnistrian region, Vadim Krasnoselsky, on 28 July.

The official specified that the main subject of discussion would focus on the removal of the control posts set by the Transnistrian regime on the period of the pandemic. ‘’I had more phone discussions with Mr. Krasnoselsky in the last weeks. According to public information, there was information on 23 July that 15 out of 36-37 posts were closed. Our goal is to return to the situation from early last March and only the posts agreed upon within the Joint Control Commission should remain,’’ the head of state said.

The Moldovan president noted he did not believe in the argument invoked by the Transnistrian officials, according to which ‘’the posts sets are connected with the pandemic.’’ ‘’I do not accept this explanation and I think that this is an incorrect step coming on behalf of those from the left bank of Dniester,’’ Igor Dodon said.

The officials of the Bureau for Reintegration said that the control posts set by the Transnistrian regime cannot be described as sanitary posts, as they fulfill duties of control and verification and block the residents’ movement in the zone.
