Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today conveyed a message on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Moldova’s Constitution, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The message reads:
„Dear citizens,
Moldova today marks the 26th anniversary of the Constitution. This is the day when we celebrate not only the Supreme Law, but also everything which we have got with its adoption – the rule of law state, democracy and freedom.
The moment of adoption was a revolutionary experiment in the democracy of our country and generated ideas, hopes and opportunities for people. The Constitution shows the values which we value as a nation, guarantees the pluralism of ideas and protects the human rights and freedoms.
As long as there is the Constitution, we can be protected from political experiments on the state and people.
The constitutional values will become a reality, when each of us becomes bearer of these values.
In the capacity of prime minister, I will further have in view the observance of the Fundamental Law and the good work of the public authorities. The government will continue implementing the necessary reforms for edifying a democratic future, in order to improve the living standards and enhance the people’s well-being.
Dear citizens, on the occasion of marking the 26th anniversary of the Constitution’s adoption, on behalf of the government, I convey to you sincere congratulations and I urge that we together watch over the observance of the principles and values laid down in the Supreme Law and thus ensure the edification of a free and prosperous society, where each citizen is appreciated, protected by law and proud of his/her country.’’
