Moldovan diplomatic missions' members to benefit from economic training

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The annual meeting in the economic diplomacy sector today started in a videoconference format. This is the fourth issue of the training courses for the diplomatic missions and the commercial and economic offices of Moldova from abroad.
In the opening of the meeting, the state secretary at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Dumitru Socolan, stressed the need of the international cooperation in the economic sector on the pandemic period, in order to cope with the present crisis. He also said that the ministry was relying on concrete actions of economic attaches, in order to strengthen the dialogue with foreign partners.
„The role of our diplomats from abroad is to turn to account the investment and commercial opportunities in the strategic sectors of the economy and to promote Moldova as attractive tourist destination,’’ Socolan said.
The training will last three days and is organized by the working group made up of representatives of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Economics and Infrastructure Ministry and Investments Agency.
The subjects on the event’s agenda were selected depending on the goals of the economic diplomacy: attracting investments, promotion of exports and of tourism in Moldova.
