Moldovan PM says obligations to local budgets to be fulfilled without delay

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu todays pays a working visit to the northern Ocnita district. On visit, the PM discussed with local public authorities the problems faced by the citizens from the region and the management of the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister informed the local authorities about the present budgetary situation and the decisions taken by the cabinet, in order to overcome the crisis triggered by the pandemic in all sectors.
„We cover a pretty difficult year. Besides all problems we have been coping with in the last 30 years, the pandemic and drought hit us. Yet, even in the conditions of this crisis, the fulfillment of the local budgets and payment of salaries to employees from all fields is made without delay,’’ Ion Chicu said.
The mayors of the settlements from the district referred to the bad discipline of citizens in the conditions of the pandemic, unauthorized constructions, digitization of public services, degree of education institutions’ preparation for the new school year, way the social assistance is distributed, lack of jobs and the need to restore some road segments.
The prime minister stressed that the cabinet of minister was presently focusing, as a priority, on two important sectors: health and education.
„We very much want to resume the education in schools and kindergartens in the traditional formula; yet, we will work according to several formulas proposed by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC). We will allocate additional financial means for endowing the institutions with anti-epidemic materials and creating sanitary conditions necessary for starting the education in safety,’’ the PM noted.
Ion Chicu inspected also a ground in the Ocnita town, meant for the construction of the Multifunctional Industrial Platform (PIM). The latter has an area of 6.5 hectares and the overall cost for the creation of the infrastructure of utilities is of about 1.8 million lei. ‘’In one week, we will have a meeting with all the 16 district heads and mayors where PIMs will be set up. We should see the degree of the grounds’ preparation, the steps needed to be taken and how can we turn to good account, till late 2020, the money earmarked to this end. Investors must find here everything prepared for starting a business. This will be an impetus for the creation of new jobs,’’ PM Chicu added.
