Decision on subsidized insurance in agriculture to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The government decision on the approval of the draft law on the subsidized insurance in agriculture and its submission to parliament for consideration will be published in the 31 July issue of the Official Journal.

The goal of this law is to stimulate farmers in ensuring the patrimonial interests against the risks specific to agricultural activities and protect their interests in the insurance process.

Also, the law will regulate the relations between insurers and agricultural producers, which appear in the process of insurance in agriculture, as well as the relations established between them, on the one hand, and the public authorities, on the other hand, given the subsidization by the state of insurance premiums.

According to Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju, the agricultural sector is quite vulnerable to natural calamities and the insurances in agriculture represent a viable long-lasting mechanism, backed by the state, which will protect farmers.
