Moldovan government meets demands coming from settlements seriously hit by bad weather

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - A meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), chaired by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, took place at the government today, the executive body’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The CSE members considered a string of demands coming from the settlements badly hit by natural calamities. Therefore, they ruled to allocate financial means necessary for restoring roads in the settlements Misovca, Costesti and Horesti, central Ialoveni district, and well as to provide over 70,000 lei for the repair of private houses of more residents from the south-eastern Stefan Voda district, damaged by heavy rains in early July.
To liquidate the consequences of a fire occurred in the building of the Rezina police inspectorate, the Commission decided to earmark one million lei from the Intervention Fund for roof’s repair.
PM Ion Chicu said that the priority was presently to cover the damages inflicted to private households and roads’ infrastructure by bad weather phenomena. Intense work is carried out in the farming sector as well.
„The largest number of demands for compensations remains the one in the agriculture sector. Today, we will give final touches to a regulation on the distribution of the 200 million lei, allocated by the cabinet to this end. Therefore, I ask the colleagues from the competent institutions for the payments to the economic agents hit to be made as quickly as possible,’’ the prime minister added.
