Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan government has extended the ban on the export of medical masks till 31 August inclusively.
Under the decision, having in view the further supply of the domestic needs in the context of the pandemic, the Moldovan producers cannot export protection masks. Initially, the export of medical gloves and disinfectant products was prohibited too; yet, according to a government decision from 24 June 2020, the ban remained only for medical masks.
The decision was taken, given the continuation of the spread of the coronavirus infection internationally and, especially because of the confirmation of cases in Moldova.
According to the cabinet of ministers, ‘’the goal of this interdiction is to protect the lives and health of people, avoid the spread of this infection in Moldova and supply people’s demand of medical masks.’’
On 11 March, the Moldovan government banned the export in medical masks and disinfectants till 15 April; afterwards the ban was prolonged till 15 May, then till 15 June, subsequently till 30 June and last time, prohibition was extended till 31 July. In the previous decision, the cabinet reserved the right ‘’depending on the evolution of the situation, to rule on reducing or extending this interdiction.’’ This right remains in force in continuation.
