Term of payment of unemployment benefit extended till 30 November in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The term of payment of the one-off unemployment benefit has been extended till 30 November 2020. The cabinet of ministers approved a decision to this effect today.
On this period, the people registered with status jobless at the territorial employment subdivisions can monthly benefit from a one-off unemployment benefit in a quantum of 2,775 lei. The assistance will be provided, even if the people do not have length of pensionable service necessary for enjoying from the unemployment benefit.
The jobless people who already enjoy unemployment benefit or got right to unemployment benefit on the period of the emergency period, in quantum not less than 2,775 lei, will benefit from the compensation of the difference between the quantum of unemployment benefit provided and sum of 2,775 lei, till the emergency state is lift.
The decision on the providing of the unemployment benefit was taken in last April and envisaged the period of the emergency state; yet, following more demands on behalf of the residents, the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry suggested that this term be extended.
