Moldovan PM says leadership maintains restrictions, pandemic evolution not positive

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - The restrictions needed for reducing the number of coronavirus infections will be maintained in August too.
Following a today’s meeting with the head of state and parliament speaker, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that ‘’the pandemic evolution is not positive and that the restrictions will be maintained in August too.’’ ‘’The evolution is negative; the number of cases increases the second week in a row. It is necessary that we maintain the restrictions,’’ Chicu said.
At the same time, the PM noted that he wanted the opening of the education process in schools and kindergartens as of 1 September. He also said that 50 million lei had been allocated for devices and consumables necessary for the procedures of reducing the risk of infection with coronavirus.
„We want very much to resume the education process starting from 1 September. We hope that we will open both the pre-school institutions and the general education ones,’’ the prime minister said.
