Moldovan president chairs first meeting of commission for constitutional reform

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today chaired the first meeting of the commission for constitutional reform, based on the recently signed decree, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state welcomed the former presidents of Moldova’s Constitutional Court (CCM), former judges, other jurists practitioners and specialists in the constitutional law, who are members of the Commission. Dodon offered them thanks for willingness to participate in the working out of proposals on revising the Fundamental Law.
Igor Dodon stressed the importance of such amendments, given that, during ten years, decision-maker have recorded numerous cases of free and extensive interpretation of the Constitution, as well as CCM’s use as political instrument, which triggered crisis situations.
