Registration deadline of candidates for local elections of 6 September expires

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission announces that on 6 August 2020 is the deadline for submitting / receiving documents for registration of candidates for mayor in Târnova, Dondușeni district and Nucăreni, Telenești district.

So far, the Electoral Council of Nucăreni constituency has received two files, and the one from Târnova a file.

According to the electoral legislation, Moldovan citizens entitled to vote aged 25, including on election day, have the right to be elected mayors.

The CEC decided to hold new local elections for mayor on September 6 in these localities following the resignation of mayors.
