Passenger carriers from Moldovan capital to be exempted from payment of taxes

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/ - The owners of minibuses from Moldova’s capital will be exempted from the payment of taxes for the period 1 June – 31 December 2020.

The decision was adopted at a today’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), after representatives of employers’ association of motor carriers had asked the councilors to approve this exemption of taxes. The main argument brought was the fact that the restrictions imposed by combating the coronavirus pandemic hit the private carriers, many of whom abandoned this activity. Thus, while in early last March, 742 minibuses were working in Chisinau, presently, there are only 350 ones.

According to the head of the meeting, Vitalie Mucan, the decision adopted will ensure the public passenger transport till the new buses and trolley buses renew the municipal public transport park.
