Moldovan honey exporters expanded online activities with USAID support

Chisinau, 11 August /MOLDPRES/- Honey exporters in our country have expanded online activities with the help of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova High Value Agriculture to promote Moldovan honey on the local and foreign market.

The Association of Beekeeping Exporters of Moldova and a group of seven honey exporting companies, members of the association will be present online for buyers thanks to web pages developed with USAID / APM support.

The website of the Association of Beekeeping Exporters of Moldova provides information about the types of honey produced in the country and presents members who can deliver Moldovan honey to any corner of the world.

The web pages of honey exporters (for example www.reginanaturii.com, www.apifera.md, www.honey.md ) will allow the continuation of the product promotion activities and the development of new commercial collaborations, if reduced travel opportunities and cessation of international exhibitions.

Currently, Moldova exports about 70 percent of honey mainly on the EU market, countries such as Italy, Slovakia, Romania, as well as Canada and the USA. In 2019, out of about 6,500 tons of honey produced in Moldova, about 4,000 tons were exported. According to the register presented by the National Agency for Food Safety, in 2019, in our country there were 24 exporters of honey, of which 12 largest exporters are members of the Association of Bee Products Exporters of Moldova.
