Moldovan PM meets representatives of World Bank

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu attended an online meeting today with representatives of World Bank Arup Banerji, the new regional director of the Eastern Europe for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, and Anna Akhalkatsi, director of the World Bank office in Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Several important issues were discussed on the bilateral agenda of the government of the Republic of Moldova and the World Bank Group. The sides discussed the launch of the process of drafting a new Partnership Framework for our country, which will prioritize the Bank's operations in our country for the next 4-5 years, as well as the negotiation of a new Development Policy Program (DPO) meant to support the state budget in 2020.
On behalf of the Moldovan government, Chicu thanked the World Bank for support and noted that they had generated positive and real results.
Arup Banerji expressed the readiness of the institution to continue cooperation in the initiated projects.
At the end of the meeting, Chicu invited the WB representative to visit the country in the next period.
